My Name is Heather, I have been working as a Mental Health Therapist for over 17 years and have a Masters of Social work Degree and am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
My job as a therapist is to provide a safe space for you to explore all aspects of who you are, what you are experiencing and help you find your way. Through therapy you will be able to find opportunities for healing, develop some coping strategies and improve your relationship with the world from the inside out.
Finding the right fit in a therapist is important! I consider my approach to be holistic and individualized, drawing from a variety of treatment approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFT).
When we meet my goal is to start building a trusting relationship and provide a safe judgement free environment for you. I appreciate your courage in seeking help!
